Best Spots in Oklahoma City to Work or Study

If you’re a work from home girlie like me, I have a list for you. The ultimate list, in fact. The list that will save you on the days when you feel like you can’t stare at the same 4 walls for even a minute longer.

This list also applies to students. Really anyone who has to work and/or study and can do it from a coffee shop or restaurant.

This list includes the BEST spots to work or study from, counting in factors like free wifi, atmosphere, and food options (because all-day cram sessions exist and you need fuel for your brain).

Let’s get into it.

Harvey Bakery

If you’ve spent any time on my blog, you may have seen me mention Harvey Bakery. It’s because I LOVE IT. She’s a versatile QUEEN 👑 If you’re looking for a variety of food options for breakfast or dinner, love baked goods and delicious coffee, or just like cute restaurants, she’s the one.

Back to the topic – Harvey Bakery is a great place to study or work. They even have a room that is basically dedicated to people working or studying. And it’s upstairs and overlooks the restaurant which is pretty cool.

Harvey has (like I mentioned) a variety of food and drinks so no matter what your study/work fuel is, you can find it here.

While I love the atmosphere, drinks, and food at Harvey Bakery, it can get a little loud around lunchtime and probably during finals.

My go-to order: the Iced Peach Sweet Tea is to actually die for. For food, I usually go with whatever pastry looks good at the moment (see image below), or the Giovanni.

Ellis Island Coffee & Wine Loungee

This coffee shop has 2 locations in Edmond, so it’s perfect for any UCO students!

Not only do they have the fuel you need to keep working/studying (coffee ☕), they have the restaurant broken out into little sections so it feels a bit more private if you are taking a meeting or studying with a friend, or just want a little privacy.

I would say this applies to most coffee shops, but you do have to buy something in order to set up shop at Ellis Island.

They don’t have a TON of food options, but they do have a good variety of pastries from La Baguette (an OKC staple) so there’s enough to keep you full for a bit!

They offer coffee flights which is super fun, and they always have seasonal drinks to choose from if you don’t know what to try! Side note: I always gravitate towards the seasonal stuff. IDK why, I’m just a sucker for that type of thing, but someone recently pointed out to me that that’s a dumb idea because what if I REALLY like it, and then I can’t get it once it’s out of season 🤯. That won’t stop me though lol

The Creamery

Another great Edmond spot: The Creamery at the Icehouse Project.

This spot is pretty dang new (opened in like May 2024?) so it might still be a lesser-known secret when you read this. They specialize in ice cream but they have a full menu of deli sandwiches, salads, etc.

Again, this spot is fairly new but because it’s in the Icehouse, it will probably gain popularity fairly quickly. I worked from there on a random Wednesday and there were only a handful of other people there while I was there. The Icehouse is really busy almost all the time so I expect it to get a bit more busy as people catch on.

The food is really good, and I got an affogato so I was able to try the coffee AND ice cream and they were both delish. Staff is super friendly, too. They even told me I could come work from there even if I wasn’t buying food, but that’s not really my style so if you go there, SUPPORT THE SMALL BUSINESS k thx.

Viridian Coffee

Viridian Coffee is another OKC newbie! They have locations throughout the state, and just opened their newest location in The Village (plus, they’ll be opening ANOTHER location in Edmond – we love a successful local chain).

I haven’t been to their other locations (Duncan – the OG, Chickasha, Lawton, and Cache) but The Village location is in an old bank which is pretty cool. The drive-thru is the old teller drive-thru. How clever?!

They have a HUGE range of choices which can be overwhelming (I know it was for me) but the staff is super helpful with recommendations based on what you like. They have coffee, smoothies, energy drinks, and several food options like pastries and salads.

It’s a pretty big space, so you should be able to find room to set up your laptop and focus.

I just recently created an Instagram Reel about this spot, so check it out!

Coworking Space

If your company will bank roll a coworking space, or if you are a business owner and dictate your own finances, there are a TON of options for coworking spaces in OKC. While I haven’t personally utilized any of these, I’ve at least gathered a list for you 🙂

Recess (Coworking AND Daycare) – Midtown, Oklahoma City

RISE Coworking – Moore, OK

The Collective – Edmond

The Verge – West Village, Oklahoma City
